Foundation Learning Resources and Qualifications now available


NCLP is a charitable status organisation based in Gloucester, our aim is to provide develop, and maintain accredited customised young parents' educational courses and materials and to support centres to deliver these to the highest possible standards. The courses address parenting skills, educational welfare and healthcare needs with embedded life skills, key and basic skills.

Over the past 12 years we have developed two accredited training programmes for Young Mums and Dads-to-Be and Young Parents.

Our two training programmes are called YMTB - designed specifically for young mums-to-be but also valuing and including young dads-to-be'; and PWP - 'Parents with Prospects'. The courses are multi-agency and holistic, they are delivered by a variety of organisations and agencies including Colleges, SureStart Centres, The Connexions Service and Training Providers.

NCLP has worked with Edexcel to map both qualifications into Foundation Learning, the qualifications also appear on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications.

NCLP specialises in the development of Life Skills training programmes, such as YMTB and Parents with Prospects.
We are delighted that these programmes map into the new parenting qualification specifications which we have developed with Edexcel. These are now available through the Qualifications and Credit Framework, Foundation Learning under sections 96 and 97. They also appear on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications.
Find out more		 NCLP works closely with the assessors of all the partner training providers to ensure the highest standards of assessment. Guidance and support is provided to all assessors so that excellent assessment practice is shared and maintained.

Find out more		 Parents with Prospects(PWP) is our programme for young Dads and Mums.
The programme is available as part of the exciting new range of qualifications developed with Edexcel and is included on the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The Parents with Prospects (PWP) course is included on the National Academy of Parenting Practitioners Tool Kit for Commissioners of Parenting Programmes.
